Surprisingly just 2 days before the test a call was received from JMT Racing Engineering asking if Marti would be interested in a 2 hour test drive of the Formula Renault 1.6 car on the following Saturday. Marti and his parents decided that they should take this opportunity and give Marti one last chance to test the car before his first race.
The test was once again on Most in the Czech Republic and Marti as usual gave his all. He drove for 51 laps, meaning he drove an hour and a half out of the two hours!
The track wasn’t grippy and Marti didn’t have any new tires or much time for analysis and rest, but he still managed to knock out a full second out of his previous best lap time!
Surely his physical fitness and stamina aren’t a limiting factor for him at the beginning of his journey in single-seaters despite the little seat time he gets.
