After a few tests over 2022 Marti finally made his KZ2 debut at the Kappellen Trophy at his home track at Lyss.
Qualifying didn’t go quite to plan and Marti posted the 4th best time. Eager to show his real speed he made a blinding start and got into P2. He tried to challenge for first place in the first couple of laps but didn’t quite have the ultimate pace, so he finished 2nd.
In the second race he started P2 and again finished there with little effort.
For the final race he was determined to win. Again starting from second he was chasing the leader when his engine seized putting end to his ambitions.
Despite this, driving wise it was an excellent debut against far more experienced drivers and his pace was improving a lot. Marti was very confident in defending and seemed to have mastered the start with shifter karts!
