Marti Stoyanov won the fourth round of the Central European Carbonia Cup in Formula 4, held at the Most circuit. The young driver, competing for the German team Jacky Racing, displayed exceptional form and composure.
During practice, Stoyanov diligently worked on the car’s setup and familiarized himself with the track. In qualifying, he secured the fastest lap time with a significant lead. The race itself evolved into a hard-fought battle with championship leader Ralf Glaser. Glaser, who utilized tire warmers – an advantage Marti did not have – started the race incredibly fast.
Throughout the race, Ralf Glaser constantly attacked, but Marti Stoyanov coolly defended his position. Ultimately, during one of his overtaking attempts, Glaser made a mistake and retired from the race. This allowed Marti Stoyanov to secure the win with a massive lead over Vlasek Schaffer and Jakub Matuszek.
Championship Standings Update
Following his second-place finish in April, missing the Hungarian round in May, a third-place finish last month in Brno, and this current victory, Marti Stoyanov is now second in the championship with 47 points, just eight points behind Glaser, who has 55. Four races remain in the season, with the next round scheduled for Slovakiaring in August.
A Challenging Start to the Season
Despite his current success, the season didn’t begin as planned for Marti. Initially, he had hoped to compete in Formula FX Pro, again with a Formula 4 car, but his preparation proved insufficient compared to his rivals. After two difficult races at the start of the season, Marti decided to fully concentrate on the Carbonia Cup, where the competition is more accessible for drivers without a large budget.
